Swagmen of old roamed the outback with just a swag and a billy, looking for manual work where they could find it. They slept under the stars and existed for just a brief moment in Australian history. Raymond, long distance walker, writer, survivor and photographer is the self-styled ELECTRONIC SWAGMAN. Armed with a Toyota, a dog, the internet and a laptop; he blogs from an Australia you may never have seen.

The ELECTRONIC SWAGMAN travels solo except for Tommie, his part dingo part /cattle dog, who records his own story on the DOG BLOG. While not a great writer, Tom has a clear and unique perspective. He gives voice to the experiences of the dogs who followed the swaggies and the dingoes who followed Aboriginal mobs, viewing the road from the ground up, seeking what is important in life.

Thousands of people used to assemble in Sydney's Domain to make speeches on a Sunday. Anyone from Christians to Communists could step onto their butter box and be heard. This was democracy in action.
